Is this on Windows Update? Because I ran the update service and it says I am up to date. I have Word installed.

You are all posting links for word 2003. So is that the only one it affects. How about 2010? The post could have been a bit more descriptive.

Microsoft has issued an emergency patch.

The Fix it solution described in this section is not intended to be a replacement for any security update. We recommend that you always install the latest security updates. However, we offer this Fix it solution as a workaround option for some scenarios.

kona, this is just a band-aid to be used until an actual Windows Update is available. A full update to fix it will take more time (and may show in WU when it is ready)........ meanwhile,.................

Hey no problem. What I was saying was when the post was started it would have been nice to list the version effected such as wiz did after my post. As far as the link you posted I have no problem with that however it is the same link that is in the top of the post under External link.

I understand you are getting old and miss things. Some day I will be at that point.

Yeah, someday.

Hey, it will be ages before that happens.

Yea maybe for you. In a 3 weeks I will be 69 so I only have about 30 years left or so. LOL.

on Mar 27, 2014

Wow! You're older than I are. Go figure.

on Mar 27, 2014

69 is a very good number...my favorite, actually...

Sheesh, I installed the patch on Office 2010 and then it would not let me open any files, not .doc, .docx, .rtf, nothing. Had to go into the Office settings and set things back to the default permissions to open them. Typical Microsoft.
